I LOVE THIS MUSICAL SO MUCH!! This is one of my FAVOURITE MUSICALS EVER!! As someone who is aroace, this oddly speaks out to me. Like, I know that Bobby isn't but. In a way I like relate. Anyway, the score is absolutely amazing, I can't get enough of "You Could Drive A Person Crazy" and "Getting Married Today". "Being Alive" was SO INCREDIBLE!! Raul's emotions in that one was so like moving, and I was sobbing and sob everytime. And the set design, although it's so simple, it's so amazing and fits so well. I love the actors, and I did watch the one with Patti Lupone in it and she's absolutely amazing she is a Sondhiem icon (like Bernadette Peters) and I love her!!
Another Sondhiem musical, proving that Sondhiem remains the best playwright ever. The message of this musical is so inspiring, My favorite song is "No one is alone" because we all hold responsibility for each other but also we are all connected. Also "Finale:Children Will Listen" speaks out to me. Also Bernedette Peters I love you so much she's incredible at singing but she was literally perfect for this role.
AMAZING SCORE, also AMAZING CASTING, with Groff sauce and Daniel Radcliffe. Love. However, the musical was a little bit complicated to follow along to, I understood the plot a little bit but the backwards structure really did just. Idk. I love this musical but I haven't rewatched it and I haven't seen the proshot yet :(
I watched the proshot when it was on PBS, and wow. I just don't know what to say, this musical is amazing. The set, the music, the representation of mental illness was flawless, and I am in love with this musical. This one speaks out to me the most because of personal reasons, and it's so theraputic. I feel like this musical has changed me and healed me as a person I am so thankful for this revival. I rewatch this musical so often and I am literally SOBBING by the first minute. I swear to god I'm so fr when I say that after watching this for the first time it took me a couple of hours to stop sobbing my eyes out and I was so dehydrated after. It is so cathartic, and it just feels like it purges out all of the negative emotions I have and it's so great!! #love
I LOVE HADESTOWN!! Can we give a big round of applause for the ensemble for a second? They literally are so talented, so diverse, so amazing people. The way they bring the show alive by setting the scene, with amazing choreography and singing, it's surreal everytime. It has never not blew my mind. The political message of this musical is so powerful and I love the application of greek myth adapted into modern society. Like.. Hades being a symbol of capitalism and global warming is really smart. Shout out to Jack Wolfe and Eva Noblezada, my favourite actors. And the lyrics are so cool!! I wish they kept Chant II from the workshops, but regardless, I THINK ITS INCREDIBLE. I think every Hades and Orpheus has been so powerful and every Persephone is so fun
What is there not to say about this show honestly? It's so chilling, so powerful, so everything. I went in completely blind when I first watched this. Act One I was like "oh wow! what a silly little show!".... Act Two I was like "Oh wow.. This show is depressing" and the SILENCE after act one was truly truly deafening. I really enjoyed Alan Cumming obviously but also Jane Horrocks singing Cabaret was so surreal. This show truly is an amazing representation of 1940s Germany but it is also such a wake up call to the rest of society and to the American audience. VERY VERY WELL DONE!!
SNAPS!! I love this show so much I still listen to the soundtrack when I need the most motivation. Elle Woods is so inspiring and I think that the musical did her better than the movie. It really shows her capability and empowers women so much.. But also the score is very much fun. I really love "Whipped into Shape" it really motivates me to do some work. They really popped off with the set designs too. Like seriously, the Delta Nu house is incredible, along with the CHOREOGRAPHY?!?! SO COOL!!
Absolute class. I still absolutely sing my heart out to "Feed me/Git it!" TO THIS DAY, and I rewatch it like maybe once/twice a year. I love this musical, I love the set design, AND I love the 3 girls they are soo good like sing it out ladies!! Seymour is literally so adorable my heart goes out to him. Audrey II is a fucking powerhouse and I love it so much like okayyy you're eating it up (literally!). Love this musical so much, 100% 5/5.
MY SHAYLA!!!!!! DARREN CRISS COME BACK TO US!! AVPM I LOVE YOU!! ITS SO FUNNY, SO CUTE, I CANT GET ENOUGH OF THIS MUSICAL. Dylan Saunders was fucking INCREDIBLE AS DUMBLEDORE, and DARREN CRISS AS HARRY POTTER?? BEAUTIFUL. PHENOMENAL. This musical is way too iconic to not give it a full rating because it is the staple of my childhood. Thank you Starkid.
This literally feulled my starkid hyperfixation for so long, as well as being the FIRST MUSICAL I have ever properly watched. This was the first production of Starkid I had watched, and I fell in love with it. It would be rude for me to not appreciate the actors, Jon Matteson as Paul Matthews was the most incredible choice, HE IS Paul. The Choreography and score is insane, the way they all dance in union it's amazing and chilling. The end when Emma is running away from the cast... Bro... My favourite songs are "Inevitable", "La Dee Da Da Day" and "Not your seed". ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. This show is also so funny, I can't stop laughing at Sam and Charlotte, and Ted being an arse. LOVE!!
